Your health is your responsibility

Health is the normal and natural state of our body

Our body heals itself, when given the right conditions.

We have to accept a 3rd idea almost automatically.

Your health is your responsibility.

Are there situations in which people have lost their health due to things outside of their control?

Yes.

Are there people born with compromised health who will never be able to live a truly healthy life?

Once again the answer is yes.

But outside of these rare situations, the health results you have are a result of your own actions and choices in life.

This is hard for people to hear and very hard for people to accept. People prefer to be told “it’s not your fault”.

Beware anyone in life telling you “it’s not your fault” about anything. They may be saying exactly what they think you want to hear in order to sell you later on something you don’t need.

People who lose their health commonly get told:it’s your genetics

  • it’s your age
  • it’s a virus
  • it’s a random unexplainable occurence
  • it’s the environment
  • it’s pollution
  • it’s the government
  • it’s the healthcare system

…and for some reason they prefer believing any number of these excuses rather than receiving a dose of truth.

When it comes to your health, by far the biggest factor in determing the quality of your health over the course of your life will be your personal lifestyle choices.

Your lifestyle is the key component that will determine your chance of developing disease, becoming disabled and dying prematurely.

This is clear and can not be denied.

Your lifestyle includes your sleep, your occupation, your relationships, your environment, your income, your level of activity and so many other factors.

But one factor plays by far the biggest role in determining your health.

Your diet.

The food you choose to consume will determine the quality of your health for life. Your diet is the most important factor to work on and improve and the one that most people get the most wrong.

As far as I am aware, your diet is something you personally choose and not something forced upon you. It is something you are free to change at any time.

This is how we can be honest with people when we say that “your health is your responsibility” as we literally control our health destiny with every bite we take.

Providing your body with the essential nutritients, the macro nutrients and micro nutrients necessary for the body to functioin correctly and restore and heal itself.
